About Effectuate

The idea is only the beginning.

Effectuate helps founders, business owners, and their teams figure out what comes next and make it work. We connect strategy, design, and operations so a decision can become something people understand, the business can deliver, and the team can keep improving.

Why Effectuate

To effect change. To cause a result.

The name describes what we’re here to do: help you move from an idea or intention to a result your team can use.

When a project crosses strategy, design, technology, operations, and the people responsible for making it happen, the work can easily break apart. We help keep those pieces connected when the problem requires it.

Our goal is to leave you with clear decisions, useful work, and the ability to own, run, and improve what comes next.

Two perspectives. One business.

What people expect and what your business must deliver.

Market promise

Your customers experience your business through its brand, products, services, stories, channels, and relationships. We look at what will help people care, understand, choose, and take part. This can include brand and commercial strategy, storytelling, experiences, channel planning, partnerships, and market activity.

Operating reality

Behind that promise, your team needs the strategy, technology, systems, workflows, ownership, and support to deliver it reliably. We look at what the business must be able to do so the experience holds up in practice.

The connection

Each side affects the other. A market promise only works if the business can deliver it. Strong operations matter most when they support something customers and employees understand and value.

We can start from either perspective or work across both. The problem determines the scope, and we connect the two where it helps your team make a better decision, create something more useful, or keep an important handoff from breaking down.

Working principles

A few principles guide the work.

See the whole problem

We start with the issue in front of you, then look at the connected decisions that could affect the result. That may include strategy, experience, technology, operations, and adoption.

Make it useful

A recommendation only matters if your team can act on it. We turn decisions into clear choices, plans, tools, workflows, systems, and other practical deliverables.

Build for ownership

Your team should be able to understand, run, and improve the work after the engagement ends. We build with that handoff in mind from the start.

Who we are

Two founders. One connected practice.

Cristian Olave

Co-founder

Cristian is a brand and commercial strategist, storyteller, and creative operator. For more than 20 years, he has worked to understand why people care about products and ideas, then use that understanding to help businesses grow.

His background spans brand strategy, sales, marketing, experiential programs, customer journeys, and commercial leadership. Much of his work has been with premium consumer brands, CPG, beverage, and luxury. He has worked with global companies, distributors, retailers, agencies, hospitality groups, and entrepreneurs, often connecting the creative idea with what needs to happen in the market.

More recently, Cristian has focused on how AI, automation, and new digital tools can help businesses become smarter, faster, and more capable without losing the human thinking behind the work.

Outside of Effectuate, Cristian is a writer and visual artist, a tennis player, an enthusiastic home cook, and someone who’s rarely able to leave an interesting idea alone.

How the work is led

You’ll always know who’s responsible.

One person leads the engagement from start to finish. From there, we bring in the strategy, design, and operational support you need.

Some engagements mainly draw on one area of expertise. Others bring both perspectives together where the market promise and operating reality need to be worked through at the same time.

The problem determines who participates and when. We don’t make an engagement broader than it needs to be.
